Batavia is one of the great little cities along the Fox River. Most of the Holzl Homes team live in Batavia with their families.
Batavia has a population of over 26,000 residents, all of which enjoy the benefits of small-town living. It is located 40 miles straight west of downtown Chicago with train access in the town just north. Batavia is less than 30 miles away from Midway International Airport and just over 20 miles away from O’Hare International Airport.
If you enjoy the great outdoors, Batavia is a great place for you. The Fox River Trail runs directly through Batavia with access on both the east and west side of the Fox River. This trail extends north to the Illinois/Wisconsin border and south past Aurora. This trail also connects up to the DuPage County Prairie Path. You can also kayak, paddle boat, or paddleboard in the Fox River. Beyond the Fox River, Batavia also is home to many forest preserves, parks and equestrian farms. Batavia offers a variety of shopping options including retail and dining in both downtown Batavia, as well as on Randall Road.
Batavia residents are proud to live in this amazing, small town that has a BIG energy! Afterall, they are known as the City of Energy dating back to the late 1800’s when Batavia was home to 6 American-style windmill manufacturing companies. Batavia is also home to Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, a federal physics laboratory.
We most love the small town feel of Batavia, all the outdoor trails to explore and the local events! This is a town that is easy to fall in love with!
